Questions

About the audio converter.

All questions
Which MP3 bitrate should I choose?

128 kbps is fine for speech and podcasts. 192 kbps is a good default for music. 320 kbps is the highest MP3 quality and gives the largest files.

Does converting MP3 to WAV improve the sound?

No. WAV is uncompressed, so the file gets bigger, but it contains the same audio as the MP3. WAV is useful when editing software asks for it.

Can I extract the audio from a video?

Yes. Drop an MP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV file and choose MP3 or WAV. See MP4 to MP3 for a step-by-step guide.

Are song titles and cover art kept?

Not at the moment. The sound is converted, but tags such as artist, title and cover art are not copied. Output is saved at 44.1 kHz.
